Swedish Massage

Traditionally called Western Massage, Swedish Massage is a well-known and world-wide practiced massage style. Generally speaking, clients are on a table and the therapist uses a lighter, relaxing touch to facilitate relaxation in the client's body. Oils and lotions are typically employed for more gliding along the client's body. Client's are appropriately draped with sheets for safety and comfort.

Benefits of Swedish Massage include reduced stress, increased flexibility, improved postures, improved blood circulation, alleviate pain, relieve headaches, and boost immunity.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is similar to Swedish Massage, but with more focus on alleviating adhesion in the muscle tissue (knots) using a deeper pressure. Generally speaking, a therapist will first warm up the client's muscles with Swedish style massage before going into a deeper pressure in order to prevent injury. Deep Tissue Massage works well to get those sticky or hard-to-get spots that are bothersome for extended periods of time.

Benefits of Deep Tissue Massage include stress relief, reduced pain, lower blood pressure, lower heart rate, breaking up of scar tissue, improved mobility, reduced arthritic symptoms, and rehabilitation of injured muscles.

Reiki Session

Reiki means 'Universal Life Energy'. Originally developed in Japan in the 19th century, Reiki is a method of drawing concentrated life force energy and radiating it. This concentrated life force energy is a non-physical force that flows through all living things, and animates them. The Reiki healer acts as a channel through which the Reiki energy flows, providing a simple and natural method for transferring Universal life energy. The influx of Reiki energy flows within the body through pathways called Chakras and Meridians as well as creating a field of energy around us called the Aura. This life force energy nourishes the organs and the cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions. Reiki works to raise the vibrations of the energy field in and around the physical body where negative thoughts and feelings are attached, causing the negative energy to break apart. In this way Reiki works to clear, straighten, heal, and balance the energy pathways allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.

Benefits of Reiki include decreased stress, anxiety, and depression; reduced pain and tension; increased vitality, mood, and energy; and enhance overall quality of life.
